What do my students and their parents see in PowerSchool?
– From the home page in the Teacher Portal, the teacher can configure the default page that PowerSchool taken them to when they click on the backpack icon (i.e. student summary)
– This configuration can be made in the ‘Personalize’ section
– If the teacher sets the ‘Default Student Screen’ to ‘Quick Lookup’, then PowerSchool will always take the teacher to the ‘Quick Lookup’ when they select a student from the roster
–Clicking on Detail will get you the student view of your standards.
– Please note that there is different functionality when a teacher click on the first name of the student vs. the last name of the student in the student information section (backpack)
– If the teacher clicks on the first name of the student, PowerSchool will always take them to the default screen that is set in the ‘Personalize’ section
– However, if the teacher clicks on the last name of the student, PowerSchool will take them to the last screen the teacher viewed
– I am going to illustrate this functionality with the following example:
click on first name of student 1 -> Navigate to ‘Quick Lookup’ screen (as this is the default screen for the teacher)
click on first name of student 2 -> Navigate to ‘Quick Lookup’ screen (as this is the default screen for the teacher)
click on first name of student 3 -> Navigate to ‘Quick Lookup’ screen (as this is the default screen for the teacher)
navigate to demographics data of student 3 by selecting ‘Demographics’ under ‘Select screens’
click on the last name of student 2 -> Navigate to ‘Demographics’ screen (as this was the last screen)
click on last name of student 3 -> Navigate to ‘Demographics’ screen (as this was the last screen)
click on first name of student 2 -> Navigate to ‘Quick Lookup’ screen (as this is the default screen for the teacher)
